Scarboro Nippers Shine at 2025 State Titles: A Golden Weekend to Remember

Over the March long weekend, the Scarboro Woodside Nippers made waves—literally and figuratively—at the 2025 State Beach and Ocean Championships. With fierce determination, team spirit, and months of dedicated training, our young athletes delivered an unforgettable performance that saw Scarboro finish a strong fourth overall. But it was in the ocean events where our Nippers truly dominated, turning the tide in our favor with a spectacular gold rush.

Golden Glory in the Water

Scarboro’s strength in the surf was undeniable, with a remarkable haul of 15 gold medals across various age groups and disciplines. The U10 boys were unstoppable, sweeping events like the Board Race, Board Relay, Surf Teams, and the 4-Person Cameron Relay. The U13 boys followed suit, showcasing their prowess with wins in the Ironman, Board Race, Board Relay, and Surf Race.

Not to be outdone, our U13 girls and U11 mixed teams also brought home gold, proving that teamwork and versatility are at the heart of Scarboro’s success.

Silver and Bronze: Depth Across the Board

Beyond the gold, Scarboro’s medal tally was bolstered by 6 silver and 8 bronze medals, reflecting the depth and consistency of our Nippers across all disciplines. From the U10 Ironman to the U13 Surf Teams, every race was a testament to the hard work of our athletes and the support of their coaches.

Celebrating Success: The Gold Table Event

Later in the month, the Nipper Lawn came alive with celebration during the Gold Table event, a recognition of the season’s achievements. It was a time to reflect, cheer, and most importantly, thank the incredible coaches and age group managers whose tireless efforts made this success possible.

Their guidance, encouragement, and commitment to nurturing young talent have laid the foundation for what was truly a golden season.
