Joining Scarboro...
We welcome new members with open arms and provide a supportive environment for you to learn and grow. Whether you're transferring from another club or new to life saving, our experienced team will guide you every step of the way.
Head to the 'How to Join' page for step-by-step guides on how to register.
Our youngest members are aged 5 and there is no upper limit to join in at Scarboro. Depending on your age and qualifications, there are different activities that members can participate in. In surf lifesaving, you age category is determined by your age at the start of the season - 30 September each year!
Yes you can. The main surf season typically runs from 1 October to 31 March. This is the period when we perform patrol duties and most of the surf sports competitions are run. There are however activities and training that run throughout the year at the Club and new members are welcome to join in at any time.
There are lots of different roles in surf life saving and they don't all involve swimming in the surf. For example, we have Award Members who may gain an award other than their Bronze medallion that enables them to participate in patrol support duties such as first aid or radio operations, officiate at carnivals or provide coaching. We also have a social membership category who just want to come down and enjoy the social facilities and support the Club.
Please see the information available on the Renewing Members page for assistance to renew your membership.
Please contact the friendly staff in our Office for assistance on how to join Scarboro SLSC or come down to the Club on a Sunday morning and someone will be able to help you with any questions.
