Scarboro Surf Life Saving Club has a robust governance structure, ensuring transparency, accountability, and effective decision-making.
Club Constitution
Under the new Associations Incorporation Act 2015, all incorporated associations, (such as our Club) must have updated their constitutions to incorporate the requirements of the new Act in place by June 2019 to meet the legislation. SLSA developed a Model document, which takes into account all requirements of the Act plus several clauses which apply specifically to SLS Clubs in abiding by SLSA rules and regulations. Our constitution was adopted by the Club at a Special General Meeting of members in May 2018 and was updated most recently at the June 2023 Annual General Meeting.
CLUB CONSTITUTION 2023Annual Reports
The Club's financial year commences on 1 May. The Club's Annual Report and Financial Statements are tabled and adopted at the Annual General Meeting.
Member Meetings
The Club is required to hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) within six months of the end of the financial year. The AGM is typically held in June or July. Notice, Agenda, Minutes and Nomination forms can be downloaded here.

Club Policies
All policies were updated by the Constitution & Policy Review Committee following the adoption of the Club Constitution in May 2018. Subsequent updates have been made as required to ensure continued alignment with the Club Constitution. Policies are reviewed regularly and if listed as ‘Draft’, they are open for member feedback as part of the approval process. Please reach out to a Director if you have any questions in respect of the Club Policies.
