Albany Surf Craft Challenge 2025

Albany, WA – June 2025
It was a picture-perfect weekend in Albany as Scarboro Surf Life Saving Club made waves at the 2025 Albany Surf Craft Challenge. With clear skies, smooth seas, and a strong sense of camaraderie, the event was a celebration of athleticism, teamwork, and community spirit.
Scarboro fielded an impressive lineup this year, with three surf boat crews and seven ski paddlers taking on the grueling 13km course. Albany delivered ideal racing conditions, and our competitors rose to the occasion.
Masters Ladies Dominate
A standout performance came from our Masters Ladies surf boat crew, who surged to 1st place, showcasing strength, strategy, and seamless coordination. Their victory was a proud moment for the club and a testament to their dedication and training.
Scott Gamble’s Stellar Run
Another highlight was Scott Gamble, who not only clinched the 55+ category win but also recorded the third fastest time overall — a phenomenal achievement that turned heads across the beach.
More Than Just Racing
But Scarboro’s impact wasn’t limited to the water. With a vibrant crew of competitors and supporters, the club brought unmatched energy to the post-race celebrations. The afterparty saw Scarboro take over the dance floor — and if there had been a trophy for best party performance, we’d have claimed that too!
Looking Ahead
A huge thank you to everyone who made the journey to Albany — whether racing, cheering, or dancing the night away. The 2025 challenge was one for the books, and we’re already counting down to Albany 2026, where we aim to return with an even bigger and bolder Scarboro crew.
Until next year — paddle hard, party harder!
