🌊 A Season of Service: Scarboro SLSC’s Outstanding 2024/25 Patrol Efforts

As we look back on another busy summer, Scarboro Surf Life Saving Club is proud to reflect on an extraordinary 2024/25 season of dedication, vigilance, and lifesaving excellence at Scarborough Beach.
This season, our incredible volunteers recorded a staggering 10,500 hours of patrol time, standing watch over one of Perth’s most iconic and dynamic coastlines. Their commitment to community safety has once again proven invaluable.
🚨 Lifesaving in Action
Our patrol members were called into action time and time again, and their efforts speak volumes:
- 191 Rescues during patrol hours – A significant increase from 139 last season, and remarkably, these accounted for 25% of all rescues across Western Australia this season.
- 206 First Aid Treatments – From minor injuries to more serious incidents, our members were there to provide immediate care.
- 6,450 Preventative Actions – These proactive measures, including hazard warnings and swimmer guidance, helped keep thousands safe before danger struck.
🏆 Statewide Recognition
Scarboro SLSC’s outstanding performance has not gone unnoticed. We are proud to share that Scarboro was once again named a finalist in the Surf Life Saving WA Awards of Excellence for Patrol Club of the Year. This recognition reflects the professionalism, teamwork, and unwavering dedication of our patrol members.
💛 A Community to Be Proud Of
These numbers are more than just statistics—they represent lives saved, injuries prevented, and a safer beach for everyone. Every patrol hour, every rescue, and every bandage applied is a testament to the passion and professionalism of our members.
To all our volunteers: thank you. Your tireless service, often under challenging conditions, has made a real difference. You should be incredibly proud of what you’ve achieved this season.
As we look ahead to the next patrol season, let’s carry forward this momentum and continue to uphold the proud tradition of lifesaving at Scarboro SLSC.
